NEWSFLASH – ≥120 Mountain Plovers in Panoche Valley 12/20/13

A record number of endangered MOUNTAIN PLOVERS have recently been reported in Panoche Valley. This has been a TOUGH bird to find here during the last couple of winters and you really won’t get this kind of chance again (especially as a huge solar farm is not slated to get built here). Get out there and have a look – I sure will!

On another note, this is perhaps, according to many birdwatchers who have visited the valley for decades, the largest group of mountain plovers seen in the valley in over 10 years! It’s also one of the driest years on record and people are reporting good mammal activity, including tricky species such as AMERICAN BADGER.

It’s a great time to be outside,

Venkat
